An admired lyric tenor and one-to-watch, Roman Mamontov is making his way up to the top.

One of his engagements for 2018/19 was Die Zauberflöte at the Nouvel Opera de Fribourg. Concert performances lead him to the major stages around the world, among others in Croatia, Cyprus or Italy.



Roman Mamontov was born in 1989, in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih.

He graduated from the Theater and Art College in Dnipr, from 2015 on he studied directing, dancing and singin at the National Art University in Kharkiv for a bachelor's degree.

He continued his studies with Tiziana Sojat (a pupil of legendary singers Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Alfredo Kraus) and Nina Cossetto. Furthermore, he attended masterclasses and with Mathias Behrends and Facundo Agudin.

From 2004 to 2012, Mamontov was engaged at the "Academy of Movement" in Kryvyi and from 2012 to 2017 he was part of the ensemble "Golos Vognyu in Kiev“.

Since 2015, he has performed extensively at concerts in Nicosia, Kiev, Monte Terminillo, Varazdin and Split, where his lyrical tenor was very much admired.

His repertoire includes roles such as Tamino and Monostratos (The Magic Flute), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Nemorino (L'elisir d 'amore), the Helmsman (The Flying Dutchman) or Rossini's (Stabat mater), just to name a few.

Roman Mamontov‘s engagements in 2018/19 included a production of The Magic Flute at the Nouvel Opéra de Fribourg.




Geboren wurde Roman Mamontov 1989 in der ukrainischen Stadt Kryvyi. Er studierte bis 2009 am Theater und Kunst College in Dnipr, danach ab 2015 an der Nationalen Kunst Universität in Kharkiv Regie, Tanz und Gesang, wo er den akademischen Grad Bachelor erwarb. Er setzte seine Studien weiters bei Tiziana Sojat (Schwarzkopf-Schülerin) und Nina Cossetto fort und besuchte Meisterkurse u.a. bei Mathias Behrends und Facundo Agudin in Biel.

Von 2004 - 2012 war Mamontov an der „Academy of Movement“ in Kryvyi und von 2012 – 2017 im Ensemble „Golos Vognyu" in Kiew verpflichtet. 

Ab 2015 wirkte er vielfach bei Konzerten in Nicosia, Kiew, Monte Terminillo, Varazdin und Split mit, wo sein lyrischer Tenor bewundert wurde.

Zu seinem Repertoire zählen Partien wie Tamino und Monostratos Die Zauberflöte, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni, Lensky Eugen Onegin, Nemorino L’elisir d’amore, Steuermann Der fliegende Holländer oder Rossinis Stabat mater, um nur einige zu nennen.

Zu seinen Engagements in der Spielzeit 2018/19 zählte eine Produktion der Zauberflöte an der Nouvel Opéra Fribourg.
