Misha's highlights for the 2018/20 season will be his return to the Teatro San Carlo Napoli as Herman in the Queen of Spades. The Ukrainian tenor appeared at the most prestigious houses in the world, such as the MET, Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera Chicago, Teatro alla Scala Milano or the Teatro Real de Madrid.

Biography

Misha Didyk has emerged as one of opera's most exciting tenors.

In the season 2019/20 he will be returning to the Teatro San Carlo Napoli where he will perform Herman in Queen of Spades

Since making his debut in North America with the Opera Company of Philadelphia in a gala event "Grand Opera's Greatest Hits" where he appeared with opera `superstars' Samuel Ramey, Denyce Graves and Jerry Hadley, he has gone on to sing the title role in Werther, the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, and Tebaldo in I Capuleti ed i Montecchi with the company. He has also appeared in North America with the New York City Opera as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Boheme and the Duke of Mantua, Opera Pacific as Rodolfo in La Boheme, and Pinkerton, Michigan Opera Theatre as Alfredo in La Traviata, the Opera de Puerto Rico as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Marseille Opera as Rodolfo, Avignon Opera as Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera, the New Israeli Opera as Duke of Mantua and in Göteborg, Sweden as Gherman in The Queen of Spades .

Misha Didyk began his career in his native Ukraine as a soloist with the National Opera of Ukraine, where he sang Lensky in Eugene Onegin, Alfredo in La Traviata, the Duke in Rigoletto and Gherman in The Queen of Spades. Shortly afterwards he began to receive invitations from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg as Alfredo in La Traviata and made an impressive international debut at the Finnish National Opera as Lord Percy in Anna Bolena.

In 2005, he made auspicious debuts with Teatro alla Scala, Milan and the San Francisco Opera as Gherman in Tchaikovsky’s `The Queen of Spades’ – the part that became one of his signature roles. Misha returned to Gothenburg as Pinkerton and Liege as Carlo Moor in Verdi’s I Masnadieri. In 2006 Misha appeared in Copenhagen in the title role of Werther and returned to the San Francisco Opera as Charles VII in Tchaikovsky's Maid of Orleans and Des Grieux in Puccini's Manon Lescaut.

In 2007 he took the role of Cavaradossi in three different productions of Tosca for the Royal Danish Opera, for the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and at the Greek National Opera, and the role of Gherman with the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Ghent.

He also appeared at the following houses: Metropolitan Opera New York, Lyric Opera Chicago, Opéra National de Lyon, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Real Madrid, Bavarian State Opera Munich, Vienna State Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Regio Torino and De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam.

Further roles include Ruggero Lastouc in Puccini’s La Rondine, performing opposite Angela Gheorghiu for the project Opera for Cinema, at the San Francisco Opera and the profoundly psychological Alexey Ivanovich in Prokofiev’s The Gambler (based on Dostoyevsky’s story) at Teatro alla Scala and Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin with Daniel Barenboim. Both roles were recorded for DVD. In 2009 he performed the role of Alexey Ivanovich in the new production of `The Gambler’ at Opéra National de Lyon.

Misha Didyk is a graduate of the National Academy of Music Kiev where he studied in the class of National Artist of the USSR Vassily Tretiak and National Artist of Ukraine Timokhin, and Professor Z. Lichtman, He has also studied with Professor Anna Maria Bondi at the Opera de Bastille in Paris and with Eugenia Miroshnichenko, of the Ukraine's most prominent singer.

Misha kehrte als Pinkerton in Lüttich und als Carlo Moor in Verdis I Masnadieri nach Göteborg zurück. 2006 trat Mischa in Kopenhagen in der Titelrolle von Werther auf und kehrte als Karl VII. in Tschaikowskys Jungfrau von Orleans und Des Grieux in Puccinis Manon Lescaut an die San Francisco Opera zurück.

2007 übernahm er die Rolle des Cavaradossi in drei verschiedenen Produktionen von Tosca für die Royal Danish Opera, für das Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla und an der Griechischen Nationaloper sowie die Rolle des Herman an der Vlaamse Opera in Antwerpen und Gent.

Engagements führten in an Häuser wie die Metropolitan Opera New York, Lyric Opera Chicago, Opéra National de Lyon, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Real Madrid, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Regio Torino und De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam.

Weitere Rollen sind Ruggero Lastouc in Puccinis La Rondine, neben Angela Gheorghiu für das Projekt Opera for Cinema, an der San Francisco Opera und der zutiefst psychologische Alexey Ivanovich in Prokofievs Der Spieler (basierend auf Dostoyevskys Geschichte) am Teatro alla Scala und der Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin mit Daniel Barenboim. Beide Rollen wurden für DVD aufgenommen. 2009 spielte er die Rolle von Alexey Ivanovich in der Neuproduktion an der Opéra National de Lyon.

Misha Didyk ist Absolvent der Nationalen Musikakademie Kiew, wo er in der Klasse der Nationalen Künstler der UdSSR Wassily Tretiak und Nationalen Künstler der Ukraine Timochin und Professor Z. Lichtman studierte. Er hat auch bei Professor Anna Maria Bondi an der Opera de Bastille in Paris und mit Eugenia Miroshnichenko, der bekanntesten Sängerin der Ukraine.
